Today in history in 1981, “Samuel Eto’o Fils was born in Douala, Cameroon.
A Cameroonian football player considered one of the best strikers in football history. Beginning his professional career at age 16 with Real Madrid, he won the CAF Award for best African player in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010. He was the all-time leading scorer in the African Cup of Nations, with 18 goals in six Cup appearances, and remains Cameroon’s all-time leading scorer.
