Just as the common example, Ramadan has come to an end and a sharp upsurge in the patronage of brothels and beer parlors noticeable. Do not get me wrong, same could be said of quadragesimal period. A great number of us display piety louder than the Pope and the chiefest of Sheikhs just around those periods that we observe our religious abstinence, but other than those times, we are just as evil as the devil can be.

Abortion@OAU: ‘Stubborn’ baby refused to be flushed down a female hostel toilet

It was just dawning and no one would have suspected to find blood stain, talk not of a new born baby, in the toilet of the female hostel in a University. But that’s exactly what happened at Moremi Hostel of the Obafemi Awolowo University in the early hours of Wednesday, 19th of June, 2013.

 

First, the callous act of a thief, who crept into the said female hostel served as a major concern for most of the residents of the hall as they woke up one after the other. He stole items including laptops and was about breaking into another room when he was sighted and an alarm raised. He vanished. Who knows, he probably was just a harbinger to the heroic baby’s arrival.

Ile-Ife, Nigeria was where the world paid her attention today with the unveiling of the gigantic Ori-Olokun sculpture at the Ori-Olokun Roundabout, which until now was called Mayfair Roundabout in Ile-Ife.

The historical Ori-Olokun, transformed into a huge statue and situated at the central part of the ancient city of Ile-Ife, was commissioned by the Executive Governor of Osun State,  Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Ife Festival of Poetry: Now Here…

Through music, human souls dey congregate to reason together.

1st of December na this year’s Edition of the festival (Ife Festival of Poetry) and the thing dey take place for Ilesa in  Osun State, Nigeria.
